The digital version of Bedrace functions very similarly to its board game equivalent. It can be played in both single player or multiuplayer modes. When in multiplayer, groups can divided into between 2 to 4 teams that compete to collect pall 6 tokens and race to the finish line by answering questions correctly.

The game can be accessed through a web browser on any device. It can be played remotely during Zoom, Skype and Teams meetings and can also be used face-to-face in lecture halls, classrooms or hybrid meetings

To play online, you can either purcahse a *single license for personal use or talk to us about gaining access for your organisation.

*A single licence gives you unrestricted access to the game platform for 12 months. A single licence allows one online game session to be run at any time. However, you can invite as many participants as you wish to each session and you can organise as many back-to-back game sessions as you need. You can also purchase additional licenses.



Who developed the digital game?


Dr Clea Atkinson BM MRCP(UK) Dip Pall Med

Dr. Clea Atkinson is Lead Consultant in Palliative and Supportive Care Cardiff and Vale University Health Board. Clea is an Honorary Senior Lecturer for Cardiff University and Bevan Commission Fellow. She has a special interest in innovation within the field of Palliative and Supportive Care.

Clea and her team won the Medi-Wales award for ‘Innovation within the NHS’ in 2019.


Sharon Wetzig

Sharon is a Registered Nurse with experience in acute and critical care settings and expertise in health professional education.

In her current role as Learning and Development Coordinator for the Palliative Care Education and Training Collaborative, she works with multidisciplinary teams to develop engaging learning resources that build the knowledge, skills and confidence of healthcare students and professionals across Australia.

She is passionate about supporting quality, person-centred palliative care for people with life-limiting illness and their families.
